Medical Bills

Medical bills/vet care is one of the highest expenses Project Parrots incurs. We aim to offer financial relief to expensive and extensive vet care to past, current and future project parrots to help ensure they can remain in capable, loving and forever homes. Some surgeries are upwards of $5,000 while continuing check ups run around $900 when sensitive and extra testing is required.

Supplies/Enrichment

At Project Parrots we love being able to send supplies in the form of enclosures, enrichment and toys to our past, present and future project parrots to ensure they are well taken care of and to help out their forever humans.

Transportation

Sometimes our role is merely covering transportation expenses to get a bird into a different place or environment that can offer better care.

Polyurea Floors

Current Need: Polyurea Floors in our Garage and Quarantine Rooms

Polyurea is a coating that gets put onto cement floors to keep them cleaner, easier to clean and wipe up and longer lasting from cracks and injury. Our floors have gotten stained from the many birds coming and going and the pressure washer can only do so much. We feel getting this coating on our floors will make it easier to roll our aviaries in and out and up the cleanliness level we can provide the birds in our care as well as preserve the floors. This work must be done with all birds moved out for days to avoid inhalation of the fumes while it dries and it must be performed in nice weather so that the large doors can be left open for the coating to dry properly.

the cost of a parrot per year

Interested in sponsoring a project parrot's care with us?

It costs us $5,878.26 per bird per year to care for and train a project parrot. This covers all annual vet exams, toys, food, housing, supplies for cleaning, prepping, training as well as treats, perching, aloe, air filters, travel, carriers, and the list goes on... but this price covers it all! Simply donate letting us know if you're sponsoring a specific project bird or if your donation can help one of our choice.

We are always in need of financial help covering the cost of taking on these parrots. Please use the donate button to sponsor a bird in our care.
