did you know?

Parrots are the third most popular pet in the world, but the number one most rehomed.

Help us change that statistic through educating the general public about how special, yet long lived, these animals are.

The average parrot will pass through as many as 5 homes in its lifetime.

If people knew better, they'd do better. We want to reach the masses by showing what birds are capable of and helping people do better by them by understanding the commitment.

Polyurea Floors

We would like to polyurea our current cement flooring where we house our birds' aviaries. This will up the cleanliness level.

This project is estimated at $6,800 and must be done in the summer.

My Story

My first Project Parrot was a 35+ year old blue fronted Amazon parrot named Storm. He hated men, couldn't fly because of how severely obese he was and ate a hamburger-only diet. 45 days later, his world (and mine) were changed forever.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A Project Parrot is a bird whom no one has been able to previously communicate or connect with, or has been deemed labels like "too stubborn/stuck in his ways". It may also be the bird no one is noticing at all. Sometimes these parrots come from rescues and other times they're from loving homes who are just feeling confused.

The time length in which we work with a Project Parrot can very between weeks, months or even years. It really depends on what we are trying to accomplish with that particular bird to make it adoptable into a forever home.

We source forever homes through Patreon only (Patreon.com/BirdTricks). By the time the public is seeing a Project Parrot, it is usually spoken for.

Monet is a lovebird who was left on someone's porch when they moved. She was brought to us at a masterclass and was too scared to even take a treat in our presence on day one. She is searching for her forever home!
